Starting January 2025, Decebalus Coffee Roasters is taking our coffee beans and adding wheels. We will be opening a coffee trailer and will be serving our coffee, along with some Romanian pastries and desserts. Follow us on social media for announcements on location and grand opening day!
Who We Are
We are a small-family owned business, run by two people who fell in love with coffee as much as each other. We started this business to show others what it is about this drink that has brought us, and others around the world, together for great conversations with friends and family. Coffee is very much rooted in who we are as a couple and as a culture. We are both first-generation Americans whose parents immigrated from Romania in the 1980's. When we were growing up, coffee was not just a drink served in the morning that would give you the caffeine needed to get through the day. It was something shared with friends when they came to visit, with family at weddings and reunions and with a good book on cold-mornings. Coffee was and is everywhere for us, even now. We love coffee for the unique flavors that come from the environment it is grown in. Romanian History
We named our roasting company after Decebalus, a significant figure in Romania’s history. Decebalus was the last king of the Dacians, a people who lived in the territory known presently as Romania. “Decebalus” (Decebal in Romanian) is a title meaning “brave of heart” or “stronger than the hearts of ten men” which he became known following his victory over Domitian’s army (Roman Empire).
